In a quiet Newbury Park neighborhood, a concerned family member's inability to reach an elderly couple led to a grim discovery on Monday, September 21, 2026. After a request for a welfare check at approximately 11:11 a.m., deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a residence on Lucas Court. Upon entering the home, they found the bodies of 89-year-old Aleksander Tukalski and his 86-year-old wife, Kazia Berlach Tukalska.
