In the quiet neighborhood of San Carlos in San Diego, a tragedy unfolded that left a community in mourning and a family shattered. Mya Jane Voight, a 13-year-old eighth-grader at Pershing Middle School, was found dead in her family's home on Boulder Lake Avenue on the morning of September 16, 2026. She was discovered along with her parents, 54-year-old Amy Voight and 56-year-old David Voight. All three had sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
