In the late evening of September 13, 2026, the life of 29-year-old Marquise Jackson of Independence, Louisiana, was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire. The incident, a drive-by shooting, unfolded in the 200 block of Highway 40, shattering the post-celebratory calm of a birthday after-party. Jackson was rushed to a nearby hospital, but several hours later, he succumbed to his injuries.
