In the late summer of 2026, the life of 38-year-old Shalini Thakur was tragically cut short in a public and violent manner that sent shockwaves through her Sacramento community. On the afternoon of September 8th, Shalini was fatally shot outside a Panera Bread restaurant on Howe Avenue. The man who took her life was 22-year-old Rohit Rohit, with whom she had a history of unwanted and escalating contact.
