A sense of normalcy was shattered on the morning of Sunday, September 6, 2026, at an apartment complex in the 3500 block of Sunset Drive in Jackson, Mississippi. It was there that 18-year-old Cedrick Mosley and a 17-year-old companion were discovered suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The incident, which occurred at approximately 10:35 a.m., prompted a swift response from Jackson Police Department Precinct 3 officers, who arrived to a scene of violence and urgency.
