On the morning of August 31, 2026, in North Charleston, South Carolina, 18-year-old Preston Fabers was fatally shot while riding a CARTA public transportation bus. The incident occurred around 10:40 a.m. at a bus stop located in the 2900 block of Carner Avenue, across the street from Military Magnet Academy.
