In the early evening of Saturday, August 29, 2026, the life of 15-year-old Kyren T. Wormely was tragically cut short in a senseless act of violence. Kyren, a Black male, was outside in his South Austin neighborhood in Chicago, Illinois, specifically in the 5200 block of West Augusta Boulevard. At approximately 8:33 p.m., a dark-colored SUV was seen passing by the area where Kyren was standing. Suddenly, an occupant of the vehicle opened fire, striking the teenager twice in the chest.
