On a late summer afternoon in Washington, D.C., the life of 21-year-old Cortez Durell Lilly Jr. was tragically cut short. On Friday, August 28, 2026, at approximately 1:39 p.m., gunfire erupted in the 6200 block of Dix Street, Northeast, resulting in a quadruple shooting that would leave one man dead and three others wounded. The Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of the shooting and discovered a chaotic scene with four adult male victims.
