On September 15, 2016, at approximately 1:59 a.m., Columbus Police responded to a call regarding a shooting at 190 North Huron Avenue, in the area of West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 32-year-old male victim, Eric James Murphy, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was immediately transported by paramedics to a nearby hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 2:36 a.m.
