Phillip Wright, a 16-year-old Oakland High School junior, was shot to death on the evening of November 19, 2009, at his East Oakland home. Wright was killed after answering a knock at the door, where a gunman fired several shots through the door, hitting him before he could open it. Family members present inside the house were unharmed.
