Angela Zamarron, 46, was found fatally injured inside a home in the 2700 block of West St. Georges Court in the Palmer Square area of Logan Square, on Chicago's Northwest Side, on the night of Thursday, August 11, 2022. The Chicago Police Department investigated. The Chicago Sun-Times homicide tracker, which lists every homicide in the city, records her death as an assault.

She was found unresponsive at about 10:45 p.m., Chicago police said. She had suffered multiple injuries, and the Cook County medical examiner's office ruled her death a homicide. Police told FOX 32 Chicago they were unsure whether she was pronounced dead at the home or at a hospital. "No further details were immediately available," the Sun-Times reported.

No further details were ever released. Police did not say who else lived in or had been in the home, whether there were signs of a forced entry, what kind of weapon or force caused her injuries, or whether investigators had identified anyone. No suspect description, person of interest or reward tied to her death could be found.

Her obituary identifies her as Angela S. Zamarron, nee Fink, of Schaumburg, the beloved wife of Jesus H. Zamarron and a devoted mother. Days after her death, her sister-in-law started a fundraiser titled "Support the Zamarron Family," writing that Angela "was taken from our family too soon" and that the family was "devastated by her sudden passing." Her stepfather's 2026 obituary remembers her as "the late Angela Zamarron." Other women named Angela Zamarron, including one killed in a hit-and-run in Arizona earlier in 2022, are not connected to this case.

St. Georges Court is a short residential street just off Palmer Square, the long oval park lined with greystones and large old homes in the Logan Square community area. It is a quiet, close-knit pocket of the Northwest Side, with neighbors who walk dogs and sit on porches in the summer, and someone nearby may have heard an argument or seen a visitor come or go that evening.

Chicago recorded about 720 homicides in 2022, down from about 800 in 2021, which had been the deadliest year in a quarter century. Chicago police reported clearing roughly half of the city's homicides in those years, though those figures count cases closed without charges. More than four years on, the public still has not been told how she was hurt or by whom.

No arrest, criminal charge or court case connected to the death of Angela Zamarron could be found in news archives or public records. More than 4 years later, there is no public sign that anyone has been held responsible. Anyone who was on St. Georges Court that Thursday evening, or who knew Angela and spoke with her in the days before she died, may be able to help. Even a small detail, such as a name overheard, a car seen leaving the area or a conversation remembered, can help detectives move a case forward. Anyone with information can call the Chicago Police Department's anonymous tip line at (833) 408-0069 or submit a tip online at CPDTIP.com, or contact Cook County Crime Stoppers at (800) 535-STOP (7867).
