On January 4, 1991, Amos Johnson Jr., a 31-year-old resident of Lima, Ohio, was found severely beaten in the early morning hours. Officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of St. Johns Avenue at approximately 2:50 a.m. after receiving a report about a man lying in distress. Upon arrival, the police discovered Johnson had sustained significant injuries to his head and body. He was immediately transported for medical attention, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries a few days later.
