Joseph Brown, a 34-year-old Black male from Philadelphia, was killed on Monday, September 5, 2016, in the city's 35th Police District. Early that morning, at about 6:34 a.m., Philadelphia Police officers were called to the 4700 block of North Broad Street. When they arrived, they found Brown in a parking lot, unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound.
