Kristopher Barnes, a 20-year-old Black male from Philadelphia, was shot in the Castor section of Northeast Philadelphia in the early days of November 2009. Police records listed the assault date as November 3, 2009, and the date of death as November 4, 2009. He was found around 6:00 p.m. in the 6700 block of Oakland Street, only a short distance from where he lived, and what began as a shooting scene quickly became a homicide investigation.
