Dixie Mendez, 24, was tragically killed on August 31, 2014, in Houston, Texas, during a drive-by shooting at a birthday party. The incident took place in the early hours of the morning on Hiram Springs when an unknown suspect carrying an AR-15 style rifle fired shots into the home. Mendez, who was sleeping in a back bedroom, was struck in the head and died at the scene. It was revealed that she had recently discovered she was pregnant.
