In the early morning hours of Thursday, November 2, 2023, what began as a stop at a gas station tragically ended in the death of 44-year-old Jamal Ali Abdulahe. A white male from Gardendale, Alabama, Abdulahe was with a female companion in his vehicle at the Marathon gas station on Pinson Valley Parkway in Birmingham at approximately 3:25 a.m. when another vehicle pulled up alongside them.
