In the spring of 2019, the life of 26-year-old Jamel Peppins, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Fairfield, Alabama. On the evening of March 15th, Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the 500 block of Seminole Circle following reports of gunfire. Upon their arrival, they discovered Peppins suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to UAB Hospital for medical attention, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
