On a Wednesday morning, January 15, 2020, the life of 26-year-old Kyre Robinson, a Black male, was tragically cut short in his Birmingham, Alabama apartment. His girlfriend made the devastating discovery upon returning from a trip to the grocery store. She found the front door to their apartment in the 4200 block of Fifth Avenue South in the Avondale neighborhood unlocked. Stepping inside, she was met with a horrific scene: Robinson was lying on the floor, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
