In the Ensley Highlands neighborhood of Birmingham, Alabama, on the morning of December 1, 2020, a report of a person shot brought officers to the 3500 block of Avenue P. There they found 20-year-old Nathan Chandler Wooter, a Black/African American male, lying in the street with a gunshot wound. Emergency services transported him to UAB Hospital, but he did not survive his injuries. His death was the city's 97th homicide investigation of that year.
