Patrick Lane Jones, a 47-year-old man, was found shot to death in a room at the La Quinta Inn on State Farm Parkway in Homewood in the early morning hours of June 2, 2021, after police were called to the hotel just after 5:00 a.m. Officers arrived to find him unresponsive with a gunshot wound, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
