In the fading light of a November evening in Birmingham, Alabama, the life of 26-year-old Kenneth Wayne Austin Jr. was tragically cut short. On November 2, 2021, Austin, a Black male, was found unresponsive in the driver's seat of a vehicle at the intersection of Inglenook Street and 43rd Avenue North. He had sustained a single gunshot wound.
