On a summer evening in Sylacauga, Alabama, the life of 20-year-old Ja'Drean Mondrell Dykes was tragically cut short. On Friday, July 29, 2022, at approximately 8:30 p.m., the sound of gunshots echoed through the Drew Court Housing Community. Responding to reports of the gunfire, officers from the Sylacauga Police Department were waved down by concerned residents near the intersection of North Main Avenue and Sherwood Drive.
