In the summer of 2022, the life of 33-year-old Johnny Lee Marbury, a Black male from Childersburg, Alabama, was cut short by gunfire. On the evening of Sunday, July 31, police responded to a call in the Stately Homes housing community. There, they found Marbury deceased, the victim of a fatal shooting.
