In the summer of 2022, a young man's life was cut tragically short on a street in Birmingham, Alabama. Justin Jai Brown, a 22-year-old male, was found on the afternoon of Sunday, June 19, lying on a sidewalk in the 5900 block of Warner Street, near Lipscomb. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find Brown unresponsive. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead. The incident marked the 63rd homicide in the city of Birmingham that year.
