On the evening of December 26, 2022, a wave of violence in Birmingham, Alabama, claimed the life of 18-year-old Kamarian Ja'Ky Morris, a Black male from Hueytown. The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of Carson Road. Morris was a passenger in a vehicle when shots were fired, striking him and a juvenile who was also in the car.
