In the early morning hours of May 27, 2022, Gerald Wayne McRee, a 60-year-old White male from the Woodstock, Alabama area, was killed in a vehicular incident on Alabama State Route 5. McRee was driving his 2006 Chevrolet Colorado when he was struck by a 2013 Toyota Tacoma driven by 24-year-old William Brooks Foster of McCalla. The collision occurred approximately five miles south of Woodstock. McRee was pronounced dead at the scene.
