In the dark, quiet hours before dawn on January 23, 2023, Rudolphus Wynn, a 71-year-old man from Pleasant Grove, Alabama, was found gravely wounded inside a home in the 400 block of 13th Place North. Police and fire medics were dispatched to the residence around 3:17 a.m., arriving to a scene that quickly turned from urgent to fatal. Wynn had suffered sharp-force injuries, and despite the rapid response, he was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 3:39 a.m.
