On a summer evening in Birmingham, Alabama, the life of 32-year-old Rahkeem Darnell Vanderbilt, a Black male, was tragically cut short. On August 4, 2023, Vanderbilt was found suffering from a gunshot wound in the driver's seat of a vehicle that had come to a stop in the front yard of a residence on the city's west side.
