In the early morning hours of December 28, 2023, a fire engulfed the Birmingham, Alabama home of 44-year-old Otis Jones Jr. First responders arrived at the residence on Westley Street to find the Tarrant Fire Department already battling the flames. They were able to rescue Mr. Jones from the burning house, and he was rushed to UAB Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
