In the early evening of July 13, 2024, a tragic event unfolded in Birmingham, Alabama, claiming the lives of three individuals, including 28-year-old Arkia 'Kia' Berry. A Black female, Berry, her five-year-old son, Landyn Brooks, and her 28-year-old boyfriend, Eric Ashley Jr., were found shot to death inside their blue sedan. The vehicle was discovered in the front yard of a residence in the 1700 block of Indian Summer Drive, riddled with bullets.
