In the late evening hours of July 29, 2024, tragedy struck at a Chevron gas station on 3rd Avenue West in Birmingham, Alabama. Ladarrius Kennedy, a 31-year-old Black male, was found unresponsive on the sidewalk, the victim of a gunshot wound. The incident, which occurred at approximately 10:50 p.m., prompted a swift response from Birmingham police officers and emergency medical personnel. Kennedy was quickly transported to UAB Hospital for urgent medical attention.
