On the evening of April 4, 2019, a burst of gunfire shattered the residential calm of the 4900 block of Nash Street in Northeast Washington, D.C. When the sounds of violence subsided, 21-year-old Desimon Julio Richardson, a Black male from Temple Hills, Maryland, was found suffering from fatal gunshot wounds.
