In the early evening of January 20, 2016, the sounds of gunfire echoed through the 200 block of Anacostia Road in Southeast Washington, D.C. When police arrived at the scene around 6:18 p.m., they found 23-year-old Timon M. Jones suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services were called to the location, but it was too late; Jones showed no signs of life and was pronounced dead.
