In the late summer of 2024, the life of Jamarcus Desean McIntyre, a 32-year-old Black male, was tragically cut short in Birmingham, Alabama. On Sunday, September 22, McIntyre was fatally shot as he was leaving a residence on 81st Place South. The perpetrators had apparently been lying in wait for him. During the attack, a backpack belonging to McIntyre was also stolen. His death marked the city's 114th homicide investigation of the year.
