In the late summer of 2024, the life of 37-year-old Donwaski L. Puryear, a resident of Decatur, Alabama, was tragically cut short. On the evening of August 21st, Puryear was at the Blossom Wood Apartments on Beltline Road when he sustained a gunshot wound in what authorities have described as a domestic violence incident. He was rushed to Huntsville Hospital for medical attention. For eight days, he fought for his life, but ultimately succumbed to his injuries on August 29, 2024.
