In the early morning hours of May 4, 2024, the quiet of a residential neighborhood in Montgomery, Alabama, was shattered by gunfire. When police arrived at the 5100 block of Loblolly Pine Drive around 3:10 a.m., they discovered a tragic scene. Twenty-eight-year-old DaNeshia Lashay McMillan, an African American woman from the nearby community of Union Springs, was found with fatal gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
