In the winter of 2024, the life of 16-year-old Jayln Marie Lindsey was tragically cut short in a burst of violence on an interstate in Mobile, Alabama. On the evening of January 15th, a rolling gun battle erupted on I-165, a violent exchange that authorities would later describe as having gang ties. Jayln was caught in the crossfire and sustained fatal injuries. Another young life, that of a 9-year-old boy, was also impacted by the shootout, as he was injured during the incident.
