In the spring of 2022, the life of a young Tuscaloosa mother was tragically cut short. Tacara Lashon Moton-Wynn, a 27-year-old Black female, was found deceased on the night of Thursday, March 17, 2022. The Tuscaloosa Police Department responded to a call about a shooting at approximately 11 p.m. in the 3500 block of McKenzie Avenue, within the McKenzie Court apartment complex. Upon their arrival, they discovered Tacara Moton, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
