In the winter of 2021, the life of 31-year-old Jona Renee McKenzie was cut short in a senseless act of violence in Birmingham, Alabama. A former waitress and a mother, she was fatally shot on either December 6th or December 7th of that year.
Jona, born in Birmingham on August 29, 1990, was a resident of Chelsea, Alabama, at the time of her death. Her passing left behind a grieving family, including her three children, her mother, and her siblings.
