On a Sunday, the 9th of May in 2021, Chester Lee Jordan, a 59-year-old man from Decatur, Alabama, gave someone a ride from a local convenience store, an act of kindness that would tragically be his last. Later that day, he was discovered in the parking lot of an apartment complex, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to Decatur Morgan Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. An investigation into the incident revealed that the motive for the shooting was robbery.
