In the spring of 2021, the life of 14-year-old Daylen D. McBride, a Black male, was tragically cut short. On the morning of May 5th, the Vigor High School student was found with multiple gunshot wounds near the intersection of West Main Street and Thomas Avenue in Prichard, Alabama, not far from the True Light Baptist Church. His family reported that he had left home around 9 a.m., and approximately an hour later, a 911 call was placed about a teenager lying on the ground.
