In the quiet community of Mt. Vernon, just outside of Fort Payne, Alabama, the life of 19-year-old Gabriel Isaac Brown was tragically cut short. On the evening of Saturday, April 17, 2021, just before 9 p.m., Gabriel was fatally shot on County Road 232. When authorities arrived at the scene, the young man was pronounced dead.
The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office, in conjunction with the 9th Judicial Circuit District Attorney's office, immediately launched an investigation into the shooting.
