In the early afternoon of a Thursday in Bessemer, Alabama, the life of a young man was tragically cut short. Carlos DeWanye Wells, Jr., a 21-year-old male, was in the 2100 block of Berkley Avenue on March 4, 2021, when he was fatally wounded by gunfire.
