David Michael Hoffman, a 46-year-old White male from Ashville, Alabama, died on August 13, 2020, in a violent shooting on Baker Road that left the community with two intertwined scenes of bloodshed and unanswered questions. Deputies with the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office were sent to the 1500 block of Baker Road that afternoon after reports of a shooting, and when they arrived, they found Hoffman dead at the scene.
