In the late afternoon of March 29, 2020, a burst of gunfire shattered the Sunday peace at a gas station on Willow Lane in Greenville, Alabama, leading to the death of 27-year-old DeAndre Powell. A Black male, Powell was a graduate of Greenville High School's class of 2011 and was known as a flourishing rap artist.
