On a quiet Saturday morning in Guntersville, Alabama, the community was shaken by the violent death of Brandy Michelle Hammons, a 37-year-old Caucasian woman. On September 28, 2019, officers from the Guntersville Police Department responded to reports of gunfire in the parking lot of the Lake Shopping Center on Gunter Avenue. Upon their arrival around 7 a.m., they discovered Hammons, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound. She succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
