In the late evening of Wednesday, May 22, 2019, a 911 call shattered the quiet of the 100 block of Blair Street in Florence, Alabama, reporting a shooting. When officers from the Florence Police Department arrived at the scene, they discovered a man on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was identified as Willie Oneal Hollis, a 63-year-old Black male from the nearby city of Sheffield.
