A quiet Sunday morning in the small community of Red Creek, just east of Millry, Alabama, was shattered by a shocking act of violence that claimed the life of 52-year-old Mel Ann Sullivan. On July 22, 2018, Mel Ann was sitting on the front porch of her home, taking a phone call, when she was fatally shot. The shot was fired from inside the house by her husband, 54-year-old Gary Sullivan. According to the local sheriff, she likely never knew what happened.
