On a summer day in Alabama, the quiet Garland community in Butler County became the scene of a grim discovery. On June 2, 2018, the bodies of 28-year-old Cortez Antonio 'Tony' Dees and 25-year-old Luman Williams, both men from Evergreen, were found in a wooded area along Dilly Hill Road. A passerby stumbled upon the scene around 3:50 p.m. and immediately alerted the Butler County Sheriff's Office. Investigators determined that both Dees and Williams had been fatally shot.
