In Birmingham, Alabama, a young woman's life was tragically cut short in a case that shook her community. Nakia Darlene Harris, an 18-year-old Black female, was seven months pregnant when she was found fatally shot in the bedroom of her home on the evening of March 21, 2016. At the time of her death, she was also the mother of a one-year-old son, who was present in the house but thankfully unharmed.
